2013 - 2015

October 2015

Schnauzerfest is outside of Nashville. Pam and I are traveling there with four Giant Schnauzers. The boys are doing very well. Anton wins the breed by class with V1, Wolfie gets a V3 in open class, and 'fluffy' Ana finishes with a SG. Pam gets her BH with Korel. We are having a lot of fun. The judges were: Conformation: Birgit Bischoff, IPO: Matthias Hallermann.

June 2015

The months of rain are finally over. Texas is drying up. Wolfie and I are training hard for agility and the BH.

April 2015

Ultrasound at our veterinarian. Ana shows all signs of pregnancy. Then the big disappointment: she is empty.

Pam has Quartz' sperm tested and we decide there is no point in trying again. The old man really is an old man.

March 2015

Ferenginar's Anastasia and Quartz from the North Express had a few dates.

February 2015

It starts to rain and never stops. Between February and June we had a total of 2 dry days. Lake Lavon, dried up and 1/2 the size, is filled and overflows. The property is under water, mud is everywhere, the dogs have fun, and I am slowly losing my minds.

August 2014

Felix, a stray from Phoenix, comes into the family. Felix is mainly a white miniature schnauzer, but something else has also thrown in a few genes. The grown-ups love the midget and are finally getting over Jazzy's death.

June 2014

And fate strikes again with full force. On June 11th, after only 2 days of illness, Jazzy leaves us. We didn't even have enough time to get the various blood tests back. Our vet is researching the causes with me, and we conclude that both Worf and Jazzy have fallen victim to the toxic insecticides in Maryland. Those destroyed the immune system of both dogs and caused them die much too young. And now there are only 3: Ferenginar's Anastasia, Ferenginar's Anton and Ferenginar's Amadeus.

May 2014

The Foster puppies move out. A few go to Phoenix. 2 stay in Texas. One goes to West Virginia. Suddenly it is super quiet here.

February 2014

Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue takes in 7 puppies. There is a lot of life in the house. The giants love the puppies as much as possible. Jazzy educates, Anton does running training, Ana hides, and Wolfie is a patient play-pal and puppy-sitter.

September 2013

Anton also comes back to me. The family with children no longer wanted him, after they found that they were having another baby. Anton is unspeakably sad and it takes some time until he has gotten over this.

June 2013

My parents decide to buy a house. We find a nice little house on 18,000 square meters of fully fenced property outside of Dallas. We are finally out of the small rental house and have more space. The dogs are happy.

March 2013

Kira leaves us on March 17th at the age of almost 13.5. It became very clear that she had held on for Worf and after Worf was no longer with us, things went downhill quickly for her.

Wolfie comes back to us. Malnourished and totally scared, I got it back from someone I once called a friend and whom I trusted completely. It took a long time until Wolfie was a normal Giant Schnauzer again.

January 30, 2013

Life pulls the ground from under my feet. Worf leaves us after a 3 week fight for his life. For me, life suddenly stops and takes my breath away. Texas should have been a fresh start for all of us. I hadn't imagined it this way.  My heart has broken into a million pieces.
